Occupational therapy at Vahdat Charity

Occupational therapy is the therapeutic use of daily life tasks and activities to advance the development of mentally disabled girls living in this home and to provide special occupational therapy services, including: Teaching life skills to the extent of the girls’ abilities and learning levels, creating and developing perceptual, motor and sensory integration skills, developing play and pre-vocational skills and leisure abilities, designing, building or using assistive devices, and using crafts that are specifically designed to enhance performance. Description and interpretation of tests such as muscle strength assessment, range of motion assessment, and adaptation of the environment for the disabled person. These services are provided individually, in groups, or in the social systems of the Vahdat Institute.

In short, all people who, due to a problem or problems, need to be treated at the Vahdat Nahdil Charity Institute in order to achieve relative independence in the desired functions, undergo this treatment method.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is a set of targeted measures that enable a disabled person to achieve the ultimate level of physical, sensory, mental, psychological, and social ability and function and maintain these abilities.

Rehabilitation services for the mentally disabled

It refers to a set of medical, educational, vocational, and social rehabilitation measures that provide the relative independence of disabled and handicapped people in society, and enable them to return to society and enjoy equal access to various social, occupational, educational, and economic opportunities compared to healthy people.

This center provides qualified mental retardation over 14 years of age with technical and vocational training along with rehabilitation services with high trainable and trainable IQ; the goal of vocational training and rehabilitation at Vahdat Charity is to enhance the abilities of this group of mentally retarded people to maximize their ability to live an independent and desirable life in their place of residence and to earn a living.

So that by providing practical training on a continuous basis, the ground for developing their intellectual and physical abilities is provided.

The Vahdat Charity Center offers its training around 4 axes (developing professional skills, developing basic or advanced educational skills, developing social skills, and developing personal skills).

Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy for Mentally Disabled Clients Over 14 Years of Age

Although mentally disabled children and adolescents have been pushed to the margins of social life, they are also searching for their lost dreams and hope that the barrier of their loneliness will collapse and a dignified life will be possible for them. This is only possible through education, rehabilitation and vocational training for these innocent disabled clients.

The growth and development of girls with intellectual disabilities coincides with the beginning of their understanding of themselves and their environment and the discovery of differences. The development of intellectual disabilities cannot be attributed solely to the disabilities or weaknesses of this group of girls. Despite undergoing various educational courses, most of these people are ostracized by society due to their low IQ and lack of acceptance by their families.
